Response Fields and Data Analysis

Exporting and Analyzing Your Visitor Data

Exporting your journey's analytics allows you to perform a deeper analysis of your visitor data in a spreadsheet application. The data is exported as a CSV file, which is compatible with programs like Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel.

How to Export and Open Your Data

Follow these steps to download and view your journey analytics:

  1. Download your CSV file
    • From the Analytics Export page, select the data you would like to download.
    • Click the Export (CSV) button.
    • The data will be downloaded to your computer in a CSV file.
  2. Open the file in Google Sheets (Recommended) or Microsoft Excel
    • Google Sheets: Open Google Sheets, then click File > Import > Upload and select your CSV file.
    • Microsoft Excel: Open Excel, then click File > Open and select your CSV file.
    • Tip: In Excel, you can also save the file as an XLSX file for easier processing.

How to Group Data by Visitors

To see the complete path a single person took through your journey, you can group the data by their unique Visitor ID. Each Visitor ID represents one unique visitor to your journey.

In Google Sheets (Recommended)

  1. Select your entire data range, including the headers.
  2. Navigate to the menu and click Data > Create group by view.
  3. Select Visitor ID as the grouping column.
  4. (Tip) You can save this group view to easily return to it later.

In Microsoft Excel

  1. Open your file in Excel. (It's helpful to save it as an XLSX file first).
  2. Select your data.
  3. Navigate to the Data tab and click Sort.
  4. Choose to sort by the Visitor ID column. This will order all the rows so that each visitor's actions are grouped together.
